Effects of Bushen Peiyuan Capsules on the levels of inflammatory factors and heat shock protein in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with syndrome of deficiency of kidney yang

Abstract：Objective To study the effect of Bushen Peiyuan Capsules on the levels of inflammatory factors and heat shock protein in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with syndrome of deficiency of kidney yang. Methods Sixty patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease diagnosed and treated in Guangdong Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from January to December 2017 were selected as research objects. The patients were divided into two groups according to the random number table, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given Tiotropium Bromide Powder Inhalation to maintain treatment, while the treatment group was added with Bushen Peiyuan Capsules orally. The therapeutic effect between the two groups was observed. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-8 (IL-8). The expression levels of serum heat shock protein-70 (HSP70) were determined by double-antibody sandwich enzyme immunoassay. Results The total effective rate in the treatment group (93.3%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (76.7%) (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, the expression levels of TNF-α, IL-4 and IL-8 in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (P ＜ 0.05), but the expression levels of inflammatory factors in the treatment group were decreased more significantly (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, the HSP70 level in the treatment group was significantly higher than that before treatment (P ＜ 0.05), while the control group had no significant improvement (P ＞ 0.05). Conclusion On basis of conventional treatment, Bushen Peiyuan Capsules in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with syndrome of deficiency of kidney yang has a significant clinical effect, which can reduce the inflammatory response, improve the expression of heat shock protein, thus protecting the cells from being damaged.
