Analysis of the status of clinical pathway management in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in China

Abstract：This article elaborates the concepts of clinical pathway and clinical pathway of traditional Chinese medicine, the implementation significance of clinical pathway management and the policy background of its implementation in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals. The main part of this paper is made up of the current status of clinical pathway management and its supporting measures. Meanwhile, it also points out main problems existed and relative recommendations for further improvement. The results showed that the development of clinical pathway of traditional Chinese medicine is very fast, and it is well supported by many measures in some hospitals which contributes to the control of hospitalization expenditure and the improvement of health care quality. However, the lack of high quality clinical pathway, unbalanced information system construction, less motivation given by payment method and imperfect evaluation standard still limit the development of clinical pathway of traditional Chinese medicine. This status could be improved by studying traditional Chinese medicine experience hard, supporting information system construction of poor area, accelerating payment reform and standardizing evaluation system.
