Abstract：Objective To investigate the community rehabilitation service ability of Tianhe District in Guangzhou City, in order to provide the basis for community rehabilitation service ability construction. Methods 30 community health service centers were selected to investigate the medical personnel, rehabilitation facilities, and rehabilitation treatment methods from September to November 2016. A sample survey was also performed to investigate the current rehabilitation status of patients with stroke in these communities. Results Complete survey reports were obtained from 25 centers, of which only 1 center did not offer rehabilitation services. There were 131 cases of rehabilitation medical staffs, of which the rehabilitation physician accounting for 51.91%, rehabilitation therapists accounting for 32.06%, and rehabilitation nurses accounting for 16.03%. The surveyed community health service centers had rehabilitation physicians with intermediate and junior titles accounting for 70.83% and 83.33%, respectively. Fewer rehabilitation physicians had senior title. The titles of most rehabilitation physicians were junior titles below, accounting for 20.83% of the communities. All community health service centers had physical therapy and traditional rehabilitation programs. However, only 4.17% of speech-swallowing-therapy programs was carried out. Furthermore, 87.50% of information campaigns and education programs for stroke rehabilitation were carried out by community health service centers. Thus, only 29.17% of the rehabilitation training programs for the disabled was performed. 19 patients with stroke were selected by sampling survey, 68.42% continued rehabilitation training at home, and 57.89% were admitted to relevant professional institutions for rehabilitation. Conclusion At present, the community rehabilitation service ability has some foundation in Tianhe District of Guangzhou City, but it is difficult to obtain better rehabilitation services of stroke patients. Therefore, communities should provide attention to the establishment of community rehabilitation services, promote rehabilitation awareness, and develop traditional Chinese and Western medicine community rehabilitation services.
