Abstract:Objective To study the dynamic change of total flavonoids content of Radix Puerariae in the same area and different harvest times, and determine the best harvest period of Radix Puerariae. Methods UV-Vis spectrophotometry was used, the test sample was extracted with 95% ethanol for 20 min, the absorbance was measured at 250 nm, and the total flavonoid content was calculated. Results The content of total flavonoids in Radix Puerariae harvested in different months was 3.79%-11.86%, the highest from September to October, the lowest from April to May. Conclusion As to the total flavonoids as the evaluation index, the best harvest period of Radix Puerariae should be September to October, the results can provide a reliable scientific basis for determining root harvest period.
