Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes of serum endothelial-derived microparticles (EMPs) and hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and its clinical significance. Methods A total of 146 patients with AMI hospitalized in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi′an Jiaotong University (“our hospital” for short) from January 2016 to January 2018 were selected as the observation group. Another 50 non-AMI patients with ventricular premature contractions who were treated in our hospital in the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum EMPs and hs-CRP were detected and compared between the two groups. Gensini score was used to evaluate the degree of vascular stenosis in the observation group, and coronary angiography was used to detect the number of vascular lesions in the observation group. The serum levels of EMPs and hs-CRP in patients with different Gensini score and vessel lesion branches were compared. The correlation between serum level of EMPs and hs-CRP and Gensini score and coronary artery lesion branches were analyzed. Results The levels of serum EMPs and hs-CRP in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The levels of serum EMPs and hs-CRP in the observation group increased gradually with the increase of Gensini score, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The levels of serum EMPs and hs-CRP in the observation group increased gradually with the increase of the number of vascular lesion branches, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The levels of serum EMPs and hs-CRP were positively correlated with Gensini score and the number of coronary artery lesions (EMPs: r = 0.583, 0.527; P < 0.05, hs-CRP: r = 0.634, 0.582, P < 0.05). Conclusion The levels of serum EMPs and hs-CRP in patients with AMI are abnormally elevated, and their level are closely related to the severity and extent of coronary artery involvement. EMPs, hs-CRP may be used as markers for judging the severity of AMI.
