Effect comparison of comprehensive auricular point therapy and acupuncture in the treatment of migraine

Abstract:Objective To compare the effect of comprehensive auricular point therapy and acupuncture in the treatment of migraine. Methods From March 2018 to March 2019, 80 patients with migraine admitted to Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into treatment group and control group according to random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. Treatment group was treated with comprehensive auricular point therapy, while control group was treated with conventional acupuncture. Thirty days was a course of treatment. After two courses of treatment, the curative effect was evaluated and headache score was evaluated. Results The headache scores of two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and treatment group was lower than that control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Clinical efficacy of treatment group was better than that of control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Comprehensive auricular point therapy has certain advantages over acupuncture in treating migraine, which is worthy of active promotion.
