Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of minimally invasive hypothermic plasma thyroidectomy on early laryngeal cancer involving anterior commissure. Methods A total of 72 patients with early laryngeal cancer involving anterior commissure admitted to Yixing People’s Hospital and Zhenjiang First People’s Hospital from February 2016 to February 2021 were selected, they were divided into observation group and conventional group, with 36 cases in each group. The observation group received minimally invasive hypothermic plasma thyroidectomy, and conventional group received conventional surgery. Operation time and intraoperative blood loss were compared between two groups; pronunciation function were compared between two groups; the scores of video fluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS) before and after surgery were compared between two groups; complications and recurrence were observed in two groups. Results The operation time of observation group was shorter than that of conventional group, and intraoperative blood loss was less than that of conventional group (P<0.05). The pronunciation function of observation group was better than that of conventional group (P<0.05). Three months after surgery, VFSS scores in both groups were higher than those before surgery, and observation group was higher than the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in observation group was lower than that in conventional group (P<0.05). The recurrence rate of observation group was lower than that of conventional group (P<0.05). Conclusion Minimally invasive hypothermic plasma thyroidectomy can effectively improve the pronunciation function and swallowing function of patients with early laryngeal cancer involving anterior commissure, which is safe and reliable, and can reduce the recurrence rate.
