Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of double-layer continuous suture and single-layer continuous suture on recovery after second cesarean section and the formation of incision scar diverticulum. Methods A total of 102 cases of second cesarean section women admitted the First People’s Hospital of Neijiang of Sichuan Province from April 2020 to April 2021 were selected, and they were divided into control group (single-layer continuous suture, 51 cases) and study group (double-layer continuous suture, 51 cases) according to the random number table method. The perioperative indicators, postoperative recovery condition, menstrual recovery condition, incision scar diverticulum formation, and complication were compared between two groups. Results There were no significant differences in operation time, intraoperative blood loss, and postoperative maximum body temperature between two groups (P>0.05); the rate of postpartum hemorrhage in study group was lower than that of control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in postoperative hospital stay between two groups (P>0.05); the duration of lochia time in study group were shorter than that of control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in menstrual duration between two groups (P>0.05); the time of postoperation menstruation was shorter than that of control group, menstrual blood volume and the incidence of abnormal menstruation in study group were lower than those of control group (P<0.05). The incidence of uterine incision scar diverticulum and the volume of scar diverticulum in study group were lower than those of control group, and the residual myometrial thickness of scar diverticulum in study group was higher than that of control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of complications in study group was lower than that of control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with single-layer continuous suture, double-layer continuous suture is better for postpartum recovery with second cesarean section, has less impact on menstruation, and it can reduce the risk of uterine incision scar diverticula formation and incidence of complications.
