Liu Shoushan’s experience in treating the acute injury of medial collateral ligament complex of knee with characteristic manipulation and external application of Chinese medicine

Abstract:The core pathogenesis of the acute injury of medial collateral ligament complex of the knee is “stagnation of blood may bring about pain”. The treatment method is to unblock part to restore its original position, stretch and push to reconcile the local qi and blood, and combine with external application of Xiaozhong Huayu Powder to promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis, and relieve pain. The acute injury of medial collateral ligament complex of the knee is often related to “injuries from falls and collision”, it belongs to the categories of “tiger’s eye suture tendon” and “knee tendon injuries” in traditional Chinese medicine. According to the injury characteristics of the disease, Liu Shoushan used a unique orthopedic massage technique-cross-legged stretch and push, combined with external application of experience with prescription Xiaozhong Huayu Powder for treatment, which has an obvious clinical effect. This article summarizes the intervention plan of Liu Shoushan characteristic manipulation combined with Chinese medicine to treat the acute injury of medial collateral ligament complex of knee, discusses the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease combined with clinical aspects, and provides some references for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
