Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of case-based learning (CBL) in clinical probation teaching of dermatology for overseas students. Methods A total of 68 overseas students from the Xi’an Jiaotong University Health Science Center in 2015 grade were selected and they were divided into the control group and the experimental group according to the internship arrangement, with 34 students in each group. In the clinical probation teaching of dermatology department of overseas students from February to March 2020, the traditional probation teaching mode was adopted in the control group, while the case-based learning mode was adopted in the experimental group. According to the results of the final theoretical assessment and questionnaire survey, the teaching effects of the two teaching modes were compared. Results The average theoretical score and excellent and good rate of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). The subjective evaluation scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion In clinical probation teaching of dermatology for overseas students, CBL teaching method can improve the clinical teaching effect to a certain extent, and is worthy of further promotion.
