Effect of Mulligan dynamic joint mobilization combined with shock wave on hip joint function recovery and hemorheology in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Mulligan dynamic joint mobilization combined with shock wave on hip joint function recovery and hemorheology in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). Methods From September 2019 to August 2021, 60 patients with early ONFH treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine were selected, they were divided into study group (Mulligan dynamic joint mobilization combined with shock wave) and control group (shock wave) according to the random number table method, with 30 caese in each group. Hip joint mobility, hemorheology indicators, and clinical efficacy were compared between two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, hip joint mobility in study group was higher than that before treatment, while the flexion, internal rotation, external rotation, and adductionmobility in control group were higher than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05); the hip joint mobility in study group was higher than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the plasma viscosity, whole blood low-cut reduced viscosity and whole blood high-cut reduced viscosity of two groups were lower than those before treatment, and study group was lower than control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The excellent and good rate of study group was higher than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Mulligan dynamic joint mobilization combined with shock wave treatment of ONFH can effectively improve hip joint mobility. It also has a significant improvement in hemorheology indicators, and is beneficial to the recovery of hip joint function.
