Abstract:Objective To explore the application of failure mode and effect analysis in in-hospital transport of critically ill patients in emergency department. Methods From December 2017 to December 2020, 102 critically ill patients treated in the Department of Emergency, Wuxi Fifth People’s Hospital of Jiangsu Province were selected as the research objects by random sampling. The patients were divided into control group and observation group by random number table, with 51 cases in each group. The control group implemented the routine hospital transport management mode, and the observation group implemented the failure mode and effect analysis management mode on this basis. The risk priority number value of in-hospital transport process, the incidence of transport accidents and the transport effect were observed and compared between the two groups after the intervention. Results After intervention, patients in the observation group had lower risk values than those in the control group without evaluation grading standard, low sense of responsibility, lack of preparation standard, unreasonable first-aid channel, not choosing the best route, and not implementing standard (P < 0.05). The total incidence of asphyxia, arrhythmia, pipe shedding, equipment failure and incomplete supplies in the transport process in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The transport time of the observation group was lower than the control group, and the satisfaction of the receiving departments and patients was higher than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Implementing the failure mode and effect analysis in the management of emergency transport patients can effectively reduce the hospital transfer risk value, reduce the incidence of transport adverse events, shorten the hospital transfer time, and improve the satisfaction of patients and receiving departments.
