Abstract:Objective To observe the effects of continuous nursing of responsibility model for the chemotherapy compliance, cancer-related fatigue and disease perception control in elderly patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods Sixty elderly patients with advanced NSCLC received chemotherapy in Department of Pulmonary Medicine, Cancer Hospital Affiliated to Xinjiang Medical University ("our hospital" for short) from January to November 2015 were taken as control group. 60 elderly patients with advanced NSCLC received chemotherapy in our hospital from January to November 2016 were taken as observation group. The control group was given conventional continuous nursing, the observation group was given continuous nursing of responsibility model. The levels of chemotherapy compliance, cancer-related fatigue and disease perception control between the two groups were compared. Results The chemotherapy compliance of observation group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The scores of emotion, severity of behavior, perception and cognition of revised Piper fatigue scale in observation group were all lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The scores of consequence, personal control, treatment control, focus, emotional statement and identification of symptoms of brief-illness perception questionnaire in observation group were all higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05), while there were no statistically significant differences of the scores of periodicity and disease consistency between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Continuous nursing of responsibility model in elderly patients with advanced NSCLC has good application effects, which can enhance the chemotherapy compliance, improve cancer-related fatigue and increase the levels of disease perception control, it is worthy of clinical application.
