Abstract:Objective To observe the effects of “Conception Channel moxibustion for strengthening the meridians with age” in the treatment of neurogenic bladder after suprasacral spinal cord injury. Methods Sixty cases of neurogenic bladder after suprasacral spinal cord injury patients from May 2017 to February 2019 in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to the method of random number table, with 30 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with Conception Channel moxibustion for about 1.5 hours, and observation group was treated with “Ren pulse moxibustion for strengthening the meridians with age”. Once a week for 4 weeks. Before and 4 weeks after treatment, 24-h urination diary indexes (24-h urination times, 24-h leakage times, single urine volume), bladder safety capacity and residual urine volume of two groups were recorded and compared. Results After treatment, the number of micturition and leakage of urine in two groups were less than those before treatment, and the amount of urine in a single time in two groups was more than that before treatment, and observation group improved significantly compared with control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The bladder safety volume of two groups after treatment was more than that before treatment, and the residual urine volume of two groups after treatment was less than that before treatment, and observation group improved significantly compared with control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion “Conception Channel moxibustion for strengthening the meridians with age” is better than traditional moxibustion in increasing bladder safety capacity, promoting urination, improving urination frequency and leakage, especially in promoting urination. It is easy to calculate, master the best moxibustion quantity and standardize the operation.
