Abstract：Esophageal cancer is a tumor disease with a high incidence in China, which has a complicated course and diversified treatment methods. Professor Liu Weisheng distinguishes and treats esophageal cancer according to the stage of the patients’ condition, emphasizes full-course management and integrates Chinese and Western medicine. According to the early, middle and late stages of patients with esophageal cancer, Professor Liu establishes the methods of soothing the liver and regulating qi, reducing phlegm and removing blood stasis, supplementing qi and nourishing blood, warming the spleen and kidney. According to the different methods of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, there are also differences in adjusting qi and blood, clearing heat and detoxifying, strengthening spleen and stomach, tonifying qi and producing blood. At the same time, Professor Liu Weisheng pays attention to the combination of attacking pathogens and strengthening healthy qi, diseases differentiation and syndromes differentiation, that achieves “survival with tumor”, prolongs the overall survival period, improves the quality of life, and achieves better clinical efficacy.
