Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of multidisciplinary collaboration (MDT) medical care model on rapid recovery in elderly patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Methods From September 2018 to September 2019, a total of 160 elderly AECOPD patients admitted to Chongqing People’s Hospital were selected as study subjects. The subjects were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group according to their admission numbers, with 80 patients in each group. The control group received routine AECOPD medical care, and the observation group received MDT medical care mode on the basis of the control group. Pulmonary function severity (CAT), dyspnea index (mMRC), activity of daily living (ADL), ventilator use time, length of stay and satisfaction rate of hospitalization were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results Before intervention, CAT score, mMRC index and ADL index were compared between the two groups, and the differences were no statistically significant (all P > 0.05). After intervention, CAT score and mMRC index in both groups were lower than before intervention (all P < 0.05), and ADL score in both groups was higher than before intervention (all P < 0.05). After intervention, CAT score, mMRC index, ventilator use time and hospitalization time in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group (all P < 0.05), while ADL score and hospitalization satisfaction rate in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Multidisciplinary collaborative medical care model not only contributes to the rapid recovery of lung function in elderly AECOPD patients, but also improves the overall quality of care, which is worthy of clinical application.
