Abstract:Objective To investigate the predictive value of shear wave elastography(SWE) in cervical lymph node metastasis of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Methods A total of 52 patients with PTC admitted to the People’s Hospital of Xuancheng City from January 2017 to February 2020 were selected for routine ultrasound and SWE examinations the correlation between SWE parameters and cervical lymph node metastasis were analyzed, and the predictive value of conventional ultrasound and SWE were compared. Results The results of multiple regression analysis showed that no lymphatic hilum, disorganized/borderlined blood flow distribution of lymph nodes, and increased Emean, Emax, and Emin were the influencing factors for lymph node metastasis in the cervical and central areas of PTC. Lymph node aspect ratio > 1/2 was the influencing factor of central lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of SWE in predicting PTC cervical lymph node metastasis were higher than conventional ultrasound. Area under the curve was 0.94, which was greater than conventional ultrasound. Conclusion SWE has a high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of PTC cervical lymph node metastasis. It can predict whether PTC cervical lymph node metastasis can occur to a certain extent.
