Abstract:Objective To study the clinical effect of Xiaoma Zhitong Granules in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy with syndrome of deficiency of both qi and yin complicated by stasis. Methods A total of 80 diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients with syndrome of deficiency of both qi and yin complicated by stasis treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine from June 2017 to June 2018 were selected. According to random number table method, they were divided into control group (Lipoic Acid Capsules) and treatment group (Xiaoma Zhitong Granules), with 40 cases in each group. After 12 weeks of treatment, the efficacy of the two groups was compared. The changes of motor nerve conduction velocity and sensory nerve conduction velocity of median nerve and common peroneal nerve, serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, motor nerve conduction velocity and sensory nerve conduction velocity of median nerve and common peroneal nerve were faster than before treatment, SOD level was higher than before treatment, the motor nerve conduction velocity and sensory nerve conduction velocity of median nerve and common peroneal nerve in the treatment group were faster than those in the control group, and the SOD level was higher than that in the control group, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusion Xiaoma Zhitong Granules can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and nerve conduction velocity of diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients with syndrome of deficiency of both qi and yin complicated by stasis, and increase the level of SOD.
