Research progress on the effect and mechanism of extracorporeal shock wave on nonspecific low back pain

Abstract:Non-specific low back pain (NLBP) is a common degenerative disease in clinic, which has attracted wide attention due to its high incidence rate and disability rate. The pathogenesis of the disease is complicated, and there is no better treatment strategy at present. In recent years, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) has been widely used to eliminate inflammation in tissues, promote blood circulation and improve central sensitization; it can significantly alleviate waist pain in patients with NLBP, improve muscle and joint function, is non-invasive and safe, and it has been recognized by the majority of patients, is worthy of clinical promotion. This article summarizes the clinical efficacy and mechanism research progress of ESWT in the treatment of NLBP, in order to provide reference for clinical application and research.
